Mr. Bikash Agarwal, Chairperson & Whole-Time Director of Shivohum Group, brings over two decades of experience in infrastructure, real estate and development. His journey as an entrepreneur has been shaped by a focus on innovation, execution and responsible growth, with Shivohum Group establishing a presence across Eastern and North-Eastern India.
Beyond business, Mr. Agarwal has also been actively involved in philanthropic and community initiatives. Through Shivohum Balaji Seva Trust and Apni Roti, he has supported underprivileged communities in West Bengal and Jharkhand through initiatives focused on food, accommodation and healthcare. His commitment to social well-being reflects a broader belief that meaningful development should create value not only through projects and businesses, but also through a positive impact on the communities around them.
This philosophy extends to Ananta Woods. Envisioned as a signature eco-luxury investment retreat, Ananta Woods brings together nature, wellness and celebration in a thoughtfully integrated destination. Set within the tea-estate and forest landscape of the Dooars, the project seeks to create an experience where guests can reconnect with nature, embrace wellness and celebrate life's special moments, while owners participate in a professionally managed hospitality ecosystem.
The vision is not simply to create another resort or residential development, but to create a nature-rooted destination that combines hospitality, wellness, celebration and ownership with landscape-first planning and a long-term approach to value creation.
A Note from the Principal Architect

Ananta Woods began with an attempt to understand its place—not simply as a site, but as a small fragment within the larger landscape of the Dooars.
The Dooars is a landscape shaped by forests, rivers, monsoon, fertile alluvial soils and an extraordinary relationship between water, vegetation and terrain. Yet the immediate site of Ananta Woods presented a different condition: a relatively flat, narrow strip of alluvial floodplain. Rather than seeing this as a contradiction, we saw it as an opportunity—to restate the micro-context of the site and allow it to acquire the character and experience of a forest.
Our intention was never to imitate the forest or create a landscape that felt artificially manufactured. Instead, we sought to interpret its essential qualities—the layers of vegetation, filtered light, changing perspectives, moments of enclosure and openness, the feeling of discovery, and the intimate relationship between built space and the natural world.
The masterplan therefore grows from the landscape rather than being imposed upon it. Architecture, vegetation, pathways, courtyards, open spaces and views are composed as a continuous experience, allowing the landscape to become part of the architecture and the architecture to gradually disappear into it.
This approach is also informed by the wisdom embedded in traditional architecture. Long before sustainability became a contemporary vocabulary, buildings were shaped by an understanding of climate, orientation, shade, ventilation, material, privacy, community and the rhythms of everyday life. We have looked at these principles not to reproduce a particular architectural style, but to reinterpret their underlying intelligence in a contemporary context.
At Ananta Woods, we have therefore tried to create an architecture that is quiet rather than assertive, immersive rather than monumental, and connected rather than isolated. The buildings are conceived as moments within a larger landscape—places from which one can experience the changing light, the movement of air, the vegetation and the changing moods of the Dooars.
The journey through the site is as important as the destination. Moving through layers of landscape, encountering glimpses of architecture, entering a residence, opening towards a garden or discovering a distant view are all intended to create a gradual sense of connection with the place.
Ultimately, our aspiration is not to create a resort that merely looks like it is in a forest.
We wanted to create a place where the experience of being in the forest becomes inseparable from the experience of architecture.
A place that does not dominate its landscape, but belongs to it.
A place that feels not so much built within the Dooars, but grown from its spirit.
